Talk Picker — Privacy Policy

Talk Picker (the "App") is an iOS / macOS application that suggests conversation topics tailored to your relationships, situations, and moods. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App processes, how it is used, and which third-party services it relies on.

1. Information We Process

The App can be used without creating an account. It processes only the following information.

Recommendation request input: relationship presets (e.g. coworker, friend), free-form text, mood settings, and device locale. This information is sent to a backend server operated by PickerSoft, which calls the Google Gemini API in order to generate topic suggestions.
Local recommendation history: suggested topics and the related input are stored locally on your device using SwiftData. They are not uploaded to any server operated by us.
Subscription status: in-app purchase entitlements (such as active subscription and expiration) are checked through Apple StoreKit and used locally on your device.
Daily usage counter: a local counter (QuotaManager) tracks free-tier daily usage and is stored only on your device.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

Directly identifying information such as name, email, or phone number.
Advertising identifiers (IDFA) or ad tracking data.
Location data.
Contacts, photos, calendar, microphone, or other permission-gated data.
Behavioral analytics or crash reports via third-party analytics SDKs.

The App does not include any advertising or analytics SDKs. PickerSoft operates a backend server (www.pickersoft.com) that relays topic generation requests to the Google Gemini API; this server does not store or log the content of your inputs (see Sections 3 and 4).

3. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services. Please also review their privacy policies.

Google LLC (Gemini API)

To generate conversation topic suggestions, the input you provide (relationship, free-form text, mood, locale) is sent to a backend server operated by PickerSoft, which forwards the request to the Google Gemini API operated by Google LLC. Because the Gemini API's real-time web search capability is used, your input may be passed to Google as part of search query context. The App is designed not to include directly identifying information in this request, but please avoid entering personal information into free-form text fields.

Google's handling of data sent to the Gemini API is governed by Google's applicable API terms and privacy policy.

Apple StoreKit

Subscription purchases and receipt validation are handled by Apple StoreKit. The App does not directly collect or store payment information.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

All recommendation history and usage counters are stored only on your device.
Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data along with it.
You can clear all stored recommendation history at any time using the "Delete all history" feature inside the App.
PickerSoft's backend server does not store or log the content of your inputs, and server-side response caching is currently disabled.
Data transmitted to Google via the Gemini API is handled under Google's applicable API terms and privacy policy; data transmitted to Apple is governed by Apple's retention policies.

5. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

6. Changes and Contact

This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect changes to the service or applicable law. Material changes will be communicated through the App or this page.
